Grandfather Francis had two farms - the original McGuire farm, and the 2nd farm was located in North Dakota. On 1/14/1919 Francis was issued a Land Patent for 160 acres N. Dakota land that he bought from the Government. Another 80 acres was purchased from another land owner. Francis traveled back in forth between the two farms putting out the crops and harvesting them. Both farms are still in the McGuire family.
